Kim Martinsen
General Manager

Kim moved to Bulkley Valley in 1990 and resides in Smithers.  She brings years of experience as a Community Economic Development Practitioner for CF Nadina working through-out the region in project management and various other capacities.  Kim directly managed Industry Canada’s Broadband for Rural and Northern Development project and along with Nadina became the recipient of the Minister’s Award for Excellence & Innovation and the Pan Canadian CF Initiative Award. Kim left Nadina for nearly a decade to become Corporate Officer and shortly after the Chief Administrative Officer for the Village of Telkwa.  While there, she led a team under the direction of Council to build a solid community foundation and subsequently produced significant bylaws for the community, four of them being the Integrated Community Sustainability Plan, Official Community Plan, Zoning Bylaw and Affordable Housing Action Plan, known as the “Community Sustainability and Resiliency Plan” which went on to win a Livable Communities Socio Economic Silver Award, a United Nations internationally sectioned sustainability honour.  In 2015, Kim returned to CF Nadina as the General Manager where she is excited to brings over 25 years experience in community involvement, extensive knowledge in management and administration, direct project management, financial administration, and community development to the Nadina team. 

Edward Quinlan
Business Analyst

Edward joined the team in October 2017 and serves clients from Smithers to Burns Lake, providing services at all stages of a business’s life cycle from establishment to succession. His background in mathematics tutoring and instructing a broad range of clients, combined with his keen eye for detail, youth engagement, and a community development minded approach to economics, allow him to facilitate others in focusing and refining their business ideas to see them come to fruition.  Originally from the Lower Mainland, Edward began his northern journey nearly a decade ago when he moved to Prince George to complete his undergraduate education at the University of Northern British Columbia.  Whether you require business plan and cash flow projection assessment; are seeking loan funds to purchase, start, or expand a business’s operations; or you want some input on an idea you have for a business, he is happy to assist you.


Ais Sheridan
Reception, Administrative Assistant

Ais joined the Community Futures Nadina team as the Administrative Assistant in 2015. Ais grew up in the Northwest and returned in 2011 to formally study business administration. She has worked for several years in administration and business management and development roles. Ais strongly believes in providing clients with impeccable customer service and in her role, she provides fellow staff members, management, and Board members with administrative support while creating a friendly environment for clients.
