EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR
Full-time Position
This position provides employment advisory services from the Community Futures of Nadina office located in Smithers. The position will work to assist clients with various aspects of job search, career planning and self-assessment, resume development, self-marketing, and the availability of other program resources.
The Successful Candidate will:
• Demonstrate a genuine interest in helping all kinds of people
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Have the ability and or related education to assess client employment paths, personal development needs, and provide suitable resources, support and direction
• Be highly organized, both personally and administratively
• Have exceptional time and personal management skills
• Be able to handle large caseloads and manage stress
• Demonstrate the ability to work with other team members and partner agencies
• Have a good working knowledge of available employment program resources and training available in BC
• Have demonstrated ability with computer applications for research, data management, client tracking, and word processing purposes – (Working knowledge of Contact IV an asset.)
• Have record management and program reporting experience
Educational Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related field, such as psychology, and or social services, and/or a certificate in employment counselling
• Completion of secondary school and several years of experience in services related to counselling or in a helping profession may be considered in lieu of formal education
